University of Kentucky women’s soccer player Kelli Hubly (former Sockers Alumni) was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week after scoring three points on Friday night at Mississippi State with a goal and an assist in the 3-1 win over the Bulldogs.
Hubly scored her first goal of the season on Friday night, striking in the 49th minute to put Kentucky up 2-0 at the time, and her goal would be the eventual game-winning goal of the match. Hubly also had an assist on Friday night, as she provided the initial service to Caitlin Landis, who buried the game’s opening goal in the 37th minute. It was her second assist in as many games.
The Elk Grove, Ill., native started the season as a forward, where she played her entire career, scoring the second-most goals on the team in 2012. After the 0-0 draw with Utah, head coach Jon Lipsitz along with his staff moved Hubly to the back line, where she has played every minute since at right back.
